AIVALIX, a startup originating from the University of Tokyo, has announced that it has executed a third-party allotment of shares with Tokyo Gas as the underwriter and initiated a business partnership. This marks AIVALIX's first equity investment from a corporate entity. Amidst the worsening deterioration of domestic social infrastructure and a critical shortage of maintenance personnel, the two companies aim to combine AI technology with equipment management expertise cultivated in the energy sector to advance predictive maintenance and infrastructure renewal planning.

Details of Collaboration in Infrastructure Maintenance

As the first phase of the partnership, the companies will launch full-scale cooperation in the water supply sector. AIVALIX's AI product, "INFRAI," featuring degradation prediction and risk evaluation capabilities, will be progressively integrated into "TUMSY®," an infrastructure management solution deployed by Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES), a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas. Through this initiative, the companies intend to evolve traditional "management"-centric operations into a framework that supports data-driven, "strategic renewal investments."

Future Outlook

Building on the achievements in the water supply sector, the two companies aim to expand into a broader range of infrastructure domains both within and outside the Tokyo Gas Group, including gas pipelines, LNG terminals, and district heating and cooling. Looking beyond AI-driven efficiency, the partnership also targets the digital transformation and transfer of veteran engineers' expertise. Together, they will work on co-building a next-generation infrastructure management foundation. AIVALIX will continue to accelerate the social implementation of resilient social infrastructure through co-creation with its partners.
