Amazon has introduced a new notification feature for its voice assistant, "Alexa," designed to personalize the shopping experience. This feature automatically alerts users to price drops or the start of sales for products they are likely to be interested in, based on their past purchase history and interests.
With this new addition, Alexa monitors items in the user's "Wish List" or "Cart," as well as products they have previously browsed. When a specific item goes on sale or is restocked, the system notifies the user via voice or visual alerts through their Alexa-enabled devices.
This feature is powered by integrating Amazon's proprietary purchase data with machine learning models. By predicting the user's shopping context and presenting information at moments when their purchasing intent is high, Amazon aims to improve the user experience (UX) and optimize purchasing opportunities.
Amazon plans to roll out continuous updates for this feature. By improving the accuracy of user preference learning and enhancing its utility as a personal shopping assistant, the company aims to strengthen customer engagement within the Amazon ecosystem.
