Beff Inc. has announced the completion of an additional funding round as part of its Series A. Continuing from the seed round, Genesia Venture Fund 4 (managed by Genesia Ventures, Inc.) participated in this round, alongside new investor Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd.
In the battery industry, scaling up from R&D to mass production presents structural challenges, notably "prolonged ramp-up periods" and "unstable production yields." To address these issues, Beff provides a platform that digitalizes tacit knowledge from the manufacturing floor, seamlessly connecting the development and mass production phases.
Founded by co-CEOs Yukihiro Nagano and Shunsuke Amagai—both of whom have led battery development at major automakers including Nissan Motor, Toyota Motor, and Mercedes-Benz—the company combines proprietary analytical software known as "Beff Navigator (VFP)" with its in-house laboratory-based "Real Factory Platform (RFP)" to build a core operating system for battery manufacturing.
Beff plans to allocate the newly raised capital primarily to the following areas to accelerate its global expansion:
Moving forward, Beff aims to fortify its hardware-software integrated development infrastructure and establish its platform as the new standard infrastructure for the battery industry.
