Project Background and Overview

Borderless Japan has announced the selection of seven enterprises, organizations, and NPOs for the "Tomoiki Social Promotion Project's Hands-On Support Program," conducted in collaboration with the Kanagawa Prefecture-backed "Tomoiki Social Promotion Consortium." This program aims to implement solutions for social issues into society as sustainable businesses.

Areas of Focus for Selected Initiatives

The seven selected organizations tackle a diverse and complex range of social challenges within Kanagawa Prefecture, including support for the elderly and people with disabilities, the eradication of social isolation within local communities, and employment support for foreign workers. Over a roughly six-month period from September 2026 to February 2027, the participants will receive specialized, hands-on support spanning business plan refinement, fundraising, and practical prototype verification.

Key Features of the Support Methodology

The program fully leverages Borderless Japan's proprietary methodology—honed through the creation of over 50 social businesses—along with the insights of the "Borderless Academy," which has produced more than 120 social entrepreneurs. Through monthly mentoring sessions led by frontline professionals and social entrepreneurs, participants receive strategic guidance to enhance the sustainability and growth potential of their ventures.

Future Outlook and Schedule

A mid-term presentation is scheduled for November 18, 2026, followed by a final results presentation in early March 2027. In parallel with the project, a "Social Business Practical Course" will be held to provide educational opportunities for individuals aspiring to solve social issues. Through these support measures, each selected participant aims to build a sustainable model for social impact.
