Ibex Japan Joins OIST DeepTech Support Program

Participation in the OIST Innovation Startup Accelerator 2026

Ibex Japan K.K. has announced its participation as an External Partner in the "OIST Innovation Startup Accelerator 2026," a program hosted by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). This practical support initiative spans approximately 10 months, focusing on commercialization validation for science and technology-based startups.

Program Support Details

Through this partnership, Ibex will provide expert, investor-perspective support to four selected DeepTech startups. The comprehensive support covers the Investment Readiness program starting in late October, the 3-Day Bootcamp in November, subsequent due diligence support, data room establishment, and the integration of growth narratives leading up to the graduation pitch in February 2027.

Background and Objectives of the Support

The OIST Innovation Startup Accelerator goes beyond mere pitch coaching, emphasizing the establishment of "Investment Worthiness"—building business traction through customer validation and demonstration. The participating startups have been selected from the AgriTech, MedTech, Biotech, and Circular Economy sectors. Ibex will leverage its global investor network and expertise to accelerate the conversion of these technologies into market value.

Future Outlook

The ultimate goal of the program is the "Showcase / Graduation Pitch" to be held in February 2027. Based on investor feedback, Ibex will continuously support startups through due diligence preparation, understanding term sheets, and formulating subsequent fundraising strategies, aiming to nurture next-generation DeepTech companies taking flight from Okinawa to the global stage.
