The Kawasaki-NEDO Innovation Center (K-NIC), operated by Tsukurie Corporation under commission from Kawasaki City, has officially opened applications for the second half of the fiscal year 2026 for the "K-NIC Startup Hands on Program." This acceleration program is tailored for pre-startup individuals and early-stage teams possessing technological seeds in the deep tech sector. Designed for those aiming to apply for NEDO support programs or secure venture capital (VC) funding, the program offers approximately two months of intensive, hands-on support.
In this program, a team of two experienced mentors will be assigned to work closely with each participant, providing business development support through approximately five online mentoring sessions. The primary support offerings include:
The program focuses on deep tech sectors such as robotics, AI, electronics, IoT, environment, advanced materials, medical devices, life sciences, biotechnology, and aerospace. It is targeted at individuals and teams aiming to launch businesses involving R&D elements. Participants from all across Japan are eligible to apply, regardless of their place of residence.
This program utilizes a two-step application process. Applicants must submit their initial application (Step 1) by Wednesday, October 28, followed by the business plan submission (Step 2) by Wednesday, November 11. Following document and interview screenings, accepted participants will be selected. The program will run from the kickoff on January 13, 2027, through March 24.
