INNOVATION V Capital (IVC), a corporate venture capital fund jointly established by Innovation Inc. and Innovation Engine Inc., has executed an investment in KG Motors, a startup developing next-generation ultra-compact mobility solutions.
Based in Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, KG Motors is a mobility tech company with the mission of "creating a world where everyone can move freely, safely, comfortably, and affordably." The company is currently developing "mibot," a single-seat ultra-compact EV that complies with Japan's micro-car (minicar) standards. Key strengths of KG Motors include leveraging a YouTube ecosystem to deeply understand users, securing mass-production technology through a capital and business alliance with Keylex Corporation, and building a robust development framework led by automotive industry veterans.
Through this investment, IVC aims to combine KG Motors' original mobility technology and production scalability with Innovation Inc.'s strengths in the B2B domain. Beyond meeting secondary vehicle demand in rural regions, the collaboration seeks to accelerate innovation in corporate sales and patrols, delivery services, and the future autonomous driving MaaS (Mobility as a Service) sector.
