Komugino Inc. has completed a third-party allotment of shares, raising a total of 300 million yen from multiple corporate investors and venture capital firms, including Seibu Shinkin Capital and Hibishin Capital. With this funding, the company aims to strengthen its management foundation with an eye toward a future Initial Public Offering (IPO) and further accelerate the growth of its group brands.
Komugino is a comprehensive food production company operating under the mission of "realizing the dreams of customers and employees through food." Leveraging its multi-store expansion expertise cultivated through the bakery brand "Komugi no Dorei," the company drives growth through a dual strategy of business revitalization via M&A and the creation of new dining formats. Its strong management team features industry professionals such as Seiji Kawamura, who has a proven track record in developing multiple restaurant formats, and entrepreneur Takafumi Horie.
Moving forward, the company plans to establish a standardized store format for "Uchidaya," a long-standing udon chain currently undergoing rebranding, with an eye toward expansion outside Kyushu. Additionally, it will strengthen the domestic and international expansion of "Gyutan no Lemon," a thick-cut beef tongue specialty store that recently joined the group, to capture inbound tourism demand. Concurrently, Komugino intends to build a sustainable growth foundation by enhancing administrative systems for its upcoming IPO and standardizing store operations through digital transformation (DX).
