Kyoto Tango Kikaku Co., Ltd. has raised a total of 30 million yen through the issuance of a small-scale private placement bond, the "Kyoto Tango Kikaku Bond." Designed with a "co-creative" structure where the interest rate links to the business's annual sales, this bond positions financial contributors not merely as creditors, but as partners in co-creating the future of the local community.
Established in July 2024 as a joint venture between LOCAL FLAG Co., Ltd.—which operates a craft beer business and more—and urban development startup NEWLOCAL Co., Ltd., the company is based in the "Sea of Kyoto" region of northern Kyoto Prefecture. It promotes sustainable community development leveraging local resources.
The raised funds will be allocated toward developing a network of interconnected community-building hubs centered around Miyazu City. Specific developments in the pipeline include "HASHIGOYA," a select shop and dining venue (opened in October 2024); the boutique hotel "mizuya" (scheduled to open in May 2025); the shichirin charcoal-grill restaurant "Kanemasu" (scheduled for 2026); and the whole-building rental accommodation "KAYA" (scheduled for 2026). By simultaneously developing hubs across multiple areas, the company aims to enhance the quality of the exploration experience and boost the overall appeal of the district.
