Modal Motors has unveiled a new business strategy aimed at completely eliminating Chinese components from its electric motor manufacturing supply chain. Amid growing global fragmentation risks, the company seeks to eliminate geopolitical vulnerabilities and establish a highly independent manufacturing framework centered around domestic and allied nations.
The company has announced plans to shift the procurement of key electric motor components outside of China. This initiative is not limited to specific standalone products; rather, it aims to build a manufacturing process entirely immune to geopolitical influence, ensuring long-term business continuity.
While much of the EV motor manufacturing industry currently relies on Chinese supply networks, Modal Motors has positioned the reinforcement of its supply resilience as a top priority. By mitigating geopolitical risks, the company intends to build a more stable manufacturing ecosystem and establish a competitive advantage in the future EV industry.
Moving forward, the company will accelerate efforts to expand component sourcing capabilities in regions outside of China. To achieve a fully autonomous motor manufacturing ecosystem, Modal Motors plans to strengthen technological development and partnerships, further enhancing the independence of its supply chain.
