Overview of the Funding

With support from Fanbase Company, NEWLOCAL has launched a "Community Co-Creation Private Placement Bond" initiative designed to collaboratively build the future of regional areas. As the first phase of this initiative, joint ventures established and operated by NEWLOCAL alongside local partners—Oga Machi Kikaku Co., Ltd. and Kyoto Tango Kikaku Co., Ltd.—issued the "Oga Machi Bond" (totaling 60 million yen) and the "Kyoto Tango Kikaku Bond" (totaling 30 million yen), respectively. This successfully completed a total fundraising of 90 million yen.

Mechanism and Objectives of the Community Co-Creation Private Placement Bonds

The defining feature of these private placement bonds is that their interest rates are linked to the growth of local businesses. The mechanism is structured so that local "fans" who provide the capital can increase their own returns by enhancing the appeal of the businesses and supporting them. Unlike traditional bank loans or equity financing dependent on an exit strategy, this model is optimized for the operational pace of businesses deeply rooted in their communities. It serves as "relational finance" that aligns the interests of operators and the local community to nurture businesses together.

Focusing primarily on real estate development-driven urban development, the company operates across six regions as of September 2026: Nozawaonsen, Miyota, Oga, Tango, Komatsu, and Marugame. Moving forward, the company plans to roll out this newly established methodology to regional communities across Japan, increasing the number of areas capable of envisioning a hopeful future.
