OLTA Inc. has entered into a capital and business alliance with Resona Holdings, Inc. In conjunction with this partnership, OLTA has completed a 2.5 billion yen funding round through a third-party allotment of shares underwritten by Resona Holdings. This latest infusion brings OLTA’s total funding to date—including both equity and debt financing—to 10.73 billion yen. While this move makes OLTA an equity-method affiliate of Resona Holdings, the company will maintain its existing management structure and independence.
Founded in 2017, OLTA specializes in "cloud factoring" and operates the cloud-based invoicing platform "INVOY," driving digital transformation in back-office operations and providing liquidity support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As the Japanese financial sector shifts from collateral- and guarantee-dependent models toward digital assessment-based models, OLTA's proprietary data and expertise have been recognized as a vital digital infrastructure for financial institutions to deepen their engagement with SME clients.
The newly raised capital will be primarily directed toward expanding headcount, specifically in engineering and business development roles. Key initiatives include the integration of OLTA’s "cloud factoring" services across the four banks within the Resona Group, further solidifying collaborations with regional financial institutions. Additionally, OLTA plans to implement bank account synchronization and payment features into the INVOY platform. By evolving into an end-to-end financial platform that handles everything from invoicing to payment management, the company aims to significantly improve the cash flow environment for SMEs.
