RegCell Secures Additional Series A Funding to Target Fundamental Cures for Autoimmune Diseases

RegCell, Inc., a biotechnology company developing a regulatory T cell (Treg) epigenetic reprogramming platform for autoimmune diseases, has announced that it has secured additional investment from the Global Brain 9 Fund and 321FORCE™ (MCI Innovation Investment Limited Partnership), both managed by Global Brain Corporation.

RegCell's Technology and Strengths

RegCell is developing an epigenetic reprogramming technology based on regulatory T cell (Treg) biology. The company's platform builds upon the pioneering research of co-founder and Director Shimon Sakaguchi (Distinguished Professor at Osaka University and Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University), who discovered the essential functions of Tregs. Without requiring genetic modification, the proprietary technology converts pathogenic T cells into stable, antigen-specific Tregs, thereby achieving high safety profiles and a simplified manufacturing process.

Purpose of Funding and Future Outlook

This investment was executed in parallel with the Series A financing round. In 2025, RegCell secured its first grant from AMED (Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development) for clinical development targeting autoimmune liver disease, and has also received a second AMED grant for another autoimmune disease. Moving forward, the company aims to conduct Phase 2 proof-of-concept trials across two autoimmune disease indications following IND submissions.
