Release Overview

Sanin Godo Bank, in collaboration with NTT DATA Corporation and Securitize Japan Inc., has initiated full-scale studies toward establishing a new funding scheme utilizing digital securities. This initiative aims to enable regional companies and local governments to leverage digital technology and secure diverse financing methods.

Overview of the Initiative

In this study, the partners will first verify the feasibility of a self-offered scheme for "bond-type security tokens" issued by Sanin Godo Bank itself. The envisioned system allows investors to invest in digital securities in small amounts and via non-face-to-face channels directly through the bank's internet banking, without needing to open a new securities account. Furthermore, the design ensures that payment of investment funds as well as the receipt of interest and redemption payments are completed entirely through the investor's existing bank account.

Technical Background and Future Outlook

By integrating NTT DATA's shared-use system, the "Regional Bank Joint Center," with the digital securities platform "Securitize PF" provided by Securitize, the initiative will realize a seamless digital securities trading environment that leverages existing financial infrastructure. Anticipating the legal framework changes accommodating the digital securitization of local government bonds scheduled to take effect in April 2027, the project will expand participation opportunities in regional businesses through digital technology. Based on the insights gained from this verification, the three companies aim to establish a fundraising support model for regional enterprises, with a future view toward horizontal deployment to other regional banks utilizing the "Regional Bank Joint Center."
