Funding Overview

Second Heart Inc. has successfully raised 9,975,000 yen—hitting 200% of its target—through the equity crowdfunding platform FUNDINNO. The funding round closed on July 23, 2026, with support from 50 individual investors.

The Challenge: Eliminating Amputations Due to Diabetes

Globally, one person loses a limb due to diabetes approximately every 20 seconds. With a mission to "eliminate the question of why care was neglected," the company is building a preventive medicine platform that bridges the gap between patients, medical institutions, and social security systems. Its flagship remote foot-check service, "Steplife," is currently implemented in 10 medical facilities across Japan, serving approximately 1,400 patients.

Use of Funds and International Outlook

The capital raised will be allocated toward the research and development of Steplife and the company's specialized medical device, the "Digital Tuning Fork," as well as international expansion efforts. Second Heart plans to accelerate its entry into the ASEAN market, notably through a partnership with the Social Security Organisation of Malaysia (PERKESO) to conduct clinical trials for detecting high-risk cases. By scaling domestic adoption alongside these international initiatives, the company aims to curb the progression of diabetic foot complications across Asia.
