Tavus, a leading AI video generation technology company, has announced the results of an empirical study utilizing its AI video avatars. The study evaluated the extent to which AI-generated avatars can replicate humans to the point of being indistinguishable during one-minute online video calls.
The results revealed that approximately half of the participants mistook the Tavus AI avatar for a real human during a one-minute conversation. This finding underscores the exceptionally high level of realism that current AI video generation technology has achieved in short-term interpersonal communication.
Tavus provides a platform that learns an individual's appearance and voice to generate videos that are virtually indistinguishable from the actual person. This test represents an effort to quantitatively measure the realism of generative AI's interpersonal communication capabilities, serving as a benchmark for delivering highly immersive digital experiences.
Encouraged by these results, the company aims to further improve its technical precision while exploring the establishment of new business communication methods leveraging AI video avatars.
