TIIA 2026: A Gateway for Content IP Ventures

The Tokyo Contents Incubation Center (TCIC) has officially opened applications for the "TCIC IP INNOVATION AWARDS (TIIA) 2026," a business plan competition centered on content intellectual property (IP). As part of a broader initiative by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to foster entrepreneurship in the creative sector, this program aims to empower innovators by recognizing exceptional business plans and providing intensive, hands-on support.

Program Objectives and Target Audience

The competition is designed for startups and sole proprietors involved in the content industry—including anime, manga, games, music, and film—who are focused on the creation or utilization of IP. The judging criteria go beyond mere creative concepts, placing significant weight on the scalability, commercial viability, and long-term strategic growth potential of the IP and the worlds created around it.

Prizes and Mentorship Support

Finalists will receive expert guidance from TCIC incubation managers and seasoned mentors to refine their business models and perfect their pitch strategies. The Grand Prize winner will receive 3 million yen (with 1.5 million yen awarded to the Excellence Award winner), along with a year of dedicated mentorship and access to the TCIC co-working space.
