WAYFARER Inc., the developer and provider of the hotel operations AI platform "Materia Connect," has announced that it has raised capital in a funding round with "Canon MJ MIRAI Fund," operated by Global Brain Corporation, serving as the lead investor.
In the hospitality industry, a wide range of operations—including reservations, pricing, housekeeping, and staffing—must be managed 24/7. A persistent challenge has been that frontline operations rely on fragmented legacy systems and manual tasks. "Materia Connect," provided by WAYFARER, is a hotel operations AI infrastructure that integrates systems, operational data, and AI via APIs without the need to replace existing Property Management Systems (PMS).
"Materia Connect" features integrated capabilities spanning revenue management, reservations, guest experience, frontline operations, and AI agent integration. In validation tests across 13 properties operated by WAYFARER itself, the platform achieved results such as increasing RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room) by up to 25% through AI-driven dynamic pricing. With this latest funding, the company aims to accelerate its deployment to external hotels and future international expansion. Furthermore, through collaboration with Canon Marketing Japan Inc., WAYFARER plans to more robustly drive digital transformation (DX) in hotel operations.
