WAYFARER Inc. has successfully completed its Series A funding round, with Canon Marketing Japan MIRAI Fund (managed by Global Brain Corporation) serving as the lead investor. The newly secured capital will be used to accelerate the expansion of its hotel business, drive the development and commercialization of its proprietary hotel operations AI infrastructure "Materia Connect," and bolster recruitment efforts to scale the organization.
WAYFARER is a hospitality technology company that currently operates 13 properties of its own (with 7 new properties scheduled to open), feeding the insights gained from firsthand operations back into its technology. Since its founding in 2019, the company's Gross Asset Value (GAV) has surpassed 40 billion yen. To seamlessly coordinate complex hotel operations in real time, WAYFARER has developed and deployed "Materia Connect," an AI infrastructure designed to integrate without replacing existing Property Management Systems (PMS). The system is engineered as a core operational infrastructure for hotels, consolidating revenue management, booking engines, and front-line operational automation.
The raised funds will be allocated toward expanding the hotel business in major cities, advancing the AI and API capabilities of "Materia Connect," and scaling its deployment to third-party hotels. Furthermore, WAYFARER is exploring collaborative opportunities with Canon Marketing Japan. By combining the resources of both companies, they aim to establish a Japan-origin integration model for hotel operations and technology, with an eye toward future global expansion.
