Wert Intelligence Co., Ltd., a specialist in AI for the patent domain, has announced a new funding round led by Altos Ventures. The company plans to leverage this capital to accelerate product development and scale its global operations.
The company provides "PlutoLM," a proprietary domain-specific language model trained on 170 million patent documents across 106 jurisdictions. Wert Intelligence is championing a new category dubbed "IP-AX" (IP AI Transformation), designed to automate the entire patent workflow for corporate R&D divisions. The platform is already being utilized by organizations like LG Electronics' R&D group, demonstrating tangible results, including up to a 3x increase in search accuracy and a 98% reduction in task completion times in live production environments.
The new funds will be directed toward further refining their product suite and supporting expansion into the Asian market—with a targeted entry into Japan scheduled for the second half of 2026. As the world's third-largest patent filing nation, Japan maintains vast patent portfolios in critical industries such as semiconductors and batteries, yet much of its management workflow remains heavily manual. By introducing IP-AX, Wert Intelligence aims to redefine intellectual property management, tailoring its AI solutions to the specific linguistic nuances and regulatory practices of the region.
Wert Intelligence is set to participate as a speaker at the "IPBC Asia Tokyo" conference this November, leading a masterclass on semiconductor licensing. By positioning itself as more than just a software vendor, the company is committed to reshaping Asia's IP infrastructure and establishing a significant footprint in the Japanese market.
