Whomor Inc. has successfully secured growth capital through a third-party allotment of shares with TV Tokyo Corporation as the subscriber, alongside additional debt financing from financial institutions. In conjunction with this funding, the company announced a strategic M&A move aimed at building a vertically integrated system for anime IP—spanning from custom illustration design to manufacturing.
Guided by the mission to "bring inspiration to the world through creativity," Whomor is a creative production and IP development firm. Leveraging a massive network of approximately 16,000 creators, the company manages over 150 copyrighted illustration projects annually. Its core strengths lie in its unique business infrastructure, which connects physical and digital retail through pop-up shop operations and integrated e-commerce platforms.
The newly raised capital and recent M&A are designed to deepen the synergy with TV Tokyo’s long-term "TX VISION 2035" and its "CaaS (Contents As A Service)" strategy. Whomor plans to bolster its illustration production capabilities while streamlining the merchandising pipeline for both existing and new anime titles. By synchronizing product availability with broadcast schedules and social media trends, the company aims to internalize the entire lifecycle—from planning and manufacturing to sales—within the group. This vertical integration is intended to maximize anime IP value and accelerate business expansion.
Takuyuki Hirobe, Director at TV Tokyo and Vice-Chair of the CaaS/IP Promotion Council, noted that the partnership with Whomor—a company with distinct strengths in illustration production—will allow TV Tokyo to accelerate and expand its merchandising business. He emphasized a commitment to delivering joy and inspiration to anime fans both in Japan and across the globe.
